On our single bean varietal pages, you will normally see a cup score. These are the value given to a coffee following a standardised cupping and scoring process as laid out by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
Following this protocol cups of coffee are brewed to an exacting standard and then scored to a defined set of criteria on a scoring sheet as below. This gives each cup a distinct "cup score" which is used to grade and price coffee to an agreed standard around the world.
