Cup Score

On our single bean varietal pages, you will normally see a cup score. These are the value given to a coffee following a standardised cupping and scoring process as laid out by the Specialty Coffee Association  (SCA). This guide will help you make sense of some of the information you will see when ordering roasted coffee beans online.

Following this protocol cups of coffee are brewed to an exacting standard and then scored to a defined set of criteria on a scoring sheet as below. This gives each cup a distinct "cup score" which is used to grade and price coffee to an agreed standard around the world.
